It was 2AM and the party was still jumping. Everything was copacetic until one girl flirted with the wrong man. Acacia’s man.

The waitress walked up to Sleepy. “Here’s a complimentary drink from that lady—right there.”

Acacia snatched the drink before Sleepy could decline and she locked eyes with the woman.

She rushed in the direction of the girl whose smile turned smug instantly when she noticed Acacia bee lining her way. No sooner than the woman got out of her chair, Acacia doused the alcohol in her face and followed it with a quick push that knocked her down. She got up swiftly, but Acacia hurriedly wrapped her fingers in the woman’s hair and banged her head viciously into the concrete wall repeatedly.

Elias and Jacobi noticed that people began scurrying to the other side of the club.

“What the fuck?” Elias questioned Jacobi who knew just as much as he did.

They both began pushing through the crowd to see what was going on. As they attempted to see the commotion first hand, the policemen, who were already on scene, immediately hustled their way past them to the source of the disturbance.

“Everyone, move. Move!” One officer said forcefully as people shifted out of their way.

When the boys in blue diffused the situation, Elias shook his head in disgust at Acacia being escorted outdoors, in handcuffs.

“Where is Sleepy?” She darted her eyes around the place in search of him. “Where is he?” Her screams grew louder as she frantically swiveled her head looking all around for him. The officers had a bit of a time controlling her as they led Acacia to their car because she kept pausing, forcing them to jerk her along.

“Calm down!” The policeman urged, placing her roughly in the backseat of the cruiser.

Samiyah ran up to the car and locked eyes with Acacia. “Find Sleepy—please,” Acacia mouthed.

Samiyah nodded her head yes, spun on her heels and set off to do just that. Little did she know, Sleepy had dipped out as soon as Acacia flipped out. There was no talking to her and finally enough was enough.

After ten minutes, Samiyah located Elias and pulled him away from Jacobi. “Eli, have you seen Sleepy? I can’t find him anywhere.”

“Nah, but if he smart, he got the fuck up outta here.”

“Come with me downtown. I need to see about bonding Acacia out.”

“I ain’t doing that shit, ya heard me. That’s yo friend. The ho can rot there for all I care.”

“Eli, don’t say that.”

“Why not? Did you see how she fucked your girl up?” Samiyah shook her head no. “I’d betcha it was over some petty possessive shit. Regardless, I can’t fuck with yo friend on no level, no mo.”

“I can’t argue you on how you feel, but that’s still my girl, so right or wrong, I’m gonna see what needs to be done this time.”

Elias shrugged his shoulders. “Me and my boys ‘bout to head to Anita’s and take the party elsewhere. You sure you don’t wanna come with us?”

“I can’t.”

“Have it your way, Yah.
